Indian cows feeding on fresh green fodder at the Vrajraj gaushala at golden hour

The farm

Close to the land. Close to life.

Vrajraj is not just a resort surrounded by greenery. The farm is an important part of who we are.

A farm in Braj

The simple rhythms of rural India

We want our guests, especially children and families, to experience a more natural connection with the land, plants, animals and the simple rhythms of rural India.

From greenery and plantations to the chance to experience cows, farming and open spaces, the farm is here to remind us of something easily forgotten in city life:

Life does not always have to move fast.

There is beauty in growing, nurturing, walking, sitting, observing, and simply being.

Our gaushala

Gau seva in the land of Gopal

Braj is where Krishna grew up as Gopal, the cowherd, grazing his cows around Govardhan Hill. Caring for cows is woven into the life of every Braj village, and it is part of life at Vrajraj too.

Our gaushala is a clean, airy and well-cared-for home for our cows. Visit with your children, watch the cows being fed, and enjoy a quiet moment that city life rarely allows.

What children remember

A farm stay gives children something no screen can: dirt on their hands, cows to meet, open skies and parents who are not in a hurry.

Meet the cows

Walk the fields

Morning and evening walks among greenery, plantations and open land.

Slow evenings

The farm: your questions

Is Vrajraj a farm stay?

Yes. Vrajraj Farms & Retreat is set on farmland at Punchhari, Govardhan, and the farm is an important part of our identity. Guests can enjoy greenery and plantations, see the cows at our gaushala and experience the simple rhythms of rural Braj.

Can children see and feed the cows?

Children and families are especially welcome to visit the gaushala with our team. Ask us during your stay and we will arrange a visit at a suitable time for the cows and for you.

Why are cows so special in Govardhan and Braj?

Braj is the land where Krishna grew up as a cowherd, Gopal, grazing cows around Govardhan Hill. Caring for cows, gau seva, remains a cherished tradition across Govardhan, Vrindavan and the villages of Braj.
