Vrajraj Farms & Retreat is a venue for Bhagwat Katha, Ram Katha, satsang, kirtan and group spiritual retreats, at Punchhari on the Govardhan Parikrama in Braj. We have landscaped lawns and multipurpose halls for the gathering, rooms for the organising family, the vyas ji and outstation guests, a garden Krishna temple, and our own kitchen. There are few places in Braj where all of this comes together on the parikrama itself.
Programmes we can host
- Shrimad Bhagwat Katha (saptah or shorter), Ram Katha and other kathas.
- Satsang, bhajan sandhya and kirtan, including all-night kirtan on Purnima.
- Group retreats and yatras: satsang mandals, kirtan groups and pilgrim groups using Vrajraj as a base for Govardhan and Braj.
- Family religious occasions: puja, havan, path, a bhandara, or a katha in memory of a loved one.
- Yoga and meditation retreats for teachers bringing a group. See spiritual retreat near Delhi.
Why Govardhan
In the Bhagavata, Krishna persuades the people of Vraja to worship Govardhan instead of Indra, and then lifts the hill to shelter them from Indra's storm (Canto 10, Chapters 24–27). Holding a katha at Govardhan lets listeners hear that story and then walk the parikrama around Giriraj ji the next morning. Daan Ghati, Jatipura's Mukharvind and Radha Kund are all within 25–35 minutes, and Barsana, Mathura and Vrindavan within about an hour.
What we provide
- Spaces: landscaped lawns for larger gatherings and multipurpose halls for daily sessions, or for weather cover.
- Stay: rooms on site for the vyas ji and team, the yajman family and guests.
- Food: meals from our own kitchen, planned with you. Tell us about satvik, no onion and garlic, vrat food, prasad or bhandara requirements.
- A temple on site: our garden Krishna temple for daily aarti.
- Parikrama and darshan support: help planning group parikramas, e-rickshaws for elders, and transport for darshan.
- Parking on site.
Planning a katha: what to tell us
- The programme and number of days (a saptah is seven days, plus arrival and departure).
- Expected daily attendance, and how many guests will stay overnight.
- Session timings, and whether you need a stage, sound and seating arranged.
- Food requirements for the family, the guests and any bhandara.
- Preferred dates. Kartik and the weeks around Govardhan Puja and Holi are popular, so ask early. See the festival calendar.
Vrajraj is opening soon. We are taking early enquiries for kathas and gatherings now, and will confirm capacities and arrangements personally for your dates.
