Farm stay

A farm stay near Delhi, in the land of the cowherd

Krishna grew up here as Gopal, the cowherd. Braj is still a land of fields and cows, and a good place for children to meet both.

By the Vrajraj team, Govardhan · Last verified

Vrajraj Farms & Retreat is a farm stay about 150 km from Delhi, at Punchhari in Govardhan, in the heart of Braj. It has fields, plantations and its own gaushala, set among the open farmland that surrounds Govardhan Hill. Most farm stays near Delhi are in Haryana. This one sits on the Govardhan Parikrama, so a weekend on the farm can also be a family pilgrimage.

What children do on the farm

  • Meet the cows. Visit the gaushala with our team, help at feeding time and learn why cows are so loved in Braj.
  • Walk the fields. See what is growing in each season, and watch sunrise and sunset over open land.
  • Play outside. The lawns give them room to run, far from traffic.
  • Hear the stories. Krishna lifting Govardhan Hill makes much more sense when the hill is right there.
  • Eat simply. Fresh, home-style food from our own kitchen.

A farm weekend with something for everyone

Many families come with three generations. While the children are on the farm, the elders can take darshan at Daan Ghati, ride the Govardhan Parikrama by e-rickshaw, or visit Radha Kund in the evening. Barsana and Mathura are under an hour away, and Vrindavan a little more. See our two-day weekend plan from Delhi.
